Perry Roe Memorial Road Rally 11th/12th September 2010.
After a short absence, Exeter Motor Club is reviving this event for 2010. Many of you will know this great event as it was the ‘Rally of the Moors’, until the tragic death of Perry Roe in 2006.
It is a round of the ASWMC Open, Novice, and Endurance Navigational Road Rally Championships. There will also be a clubman permit event running alongside, for which competitors will not require competition licences. This section of the event will be closed to club, but 2 memberships to Exeter Motor Club, for the remainder of 2010, are included in the clubman entry. This is to encourage total beginners who may have done some 12 car navigational exercises to have a taste of the next level. Anyone having competed on a Nat B Road event previously will not qualify for an award, but can compete for the experience or practice etc.
The entry fee will be £55 up until August the 10th 2010, and from then until the close of entries will be £65. For entry contact Chris Smale 01752 767324 rallychief @blueyonder.co.uk. Regs and entry form available to download from Exeter Motor Club Website, or on this site Here
Road events are currently going through a difficult time. It is our belief that we have weathered the storm and things are getting better.
We have some of the best lanes in the country for road events, and it would be a crime, if we allowed the use of them for road rallies to die out. We will continue to work very hard over the remaining weeks to make this event work within the current framework. That is our part; your part is to support us with your entry.
Navigation will be by pre printed map handouts, so no plot and bash. Any whites will be able to be driven in a standard car, with care. There will be no tricks, nothing hidden, nothing devious. So come and have a fun enjoyable night, after all that’s what it’s about.
We will need loads of marshals, so if you can’t support us with an entry, support us by marshalling, free breakfast for 2 controls Contact Chief Marshal Maggie Bullock 01752 767324 rallybabe@blueyonder.co.uk

The Return Of The Tregrehan Hill Climb 12 September 2010
TDMC have spent a lot of money refurbishing some of the surface, taken out the bump just after the first left hander and also resurfaced the top straight and hairpin, its now smooth and good all the way around and the inside edge is very good. The club have made improvements to both paddock entrances and have erected a permanent shed/office for signing on etc. There is a new team running the event and we look forward to taking it from strength to strength.
The Hillclimb is being run as part of the Festival of Cornish Motor Sport there being on display that day a number of cars from one make clubs to Cape-to-Cape competitors and other invited guests. The Chairman of Cornwall Council is scheduled to open the event in the electric car being promoted and run by the council and it is also hoped that the Richard Lander school will bring along there own electric vehicle they recently constructed and raced.
The club look forward to the assistance of any marshals who can come along to help, we will of course look after them on the day.
Regards
Tony Wood Hon Sec TDMC
